Additional: Leo C. Engel, 75, of 142 Longview Court, St. Marys, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Joint Township District Memorial Hospital of a heart attack. He had been ill with a heart condition for the past eight months. Born Dec. 24, 1906 in Noble Township, he was the son of Henry and Maria (Hudson) Engel. On June 29, 1928, he married Ruby Bonifield who survives. Survivers include a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Vera) Frasure of R.R.1, St. Marys; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alvin Engel of R.R.1, Spencerville; and Guy Engel of Wapakoneta; and one sister, Mrs. Katheryn Atkinson of Fort Pierce, Fla. Four brothers, Louie, Adrian, Merdous and Lester; and one sister, Onnolee Wheeler preceded him in death. Mr. Engel was a retired farmer. In 1974, he moved from the farm to St. Marys. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. He was also a member of the fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691 of Wapakoneta; St. Marys Senior Citizens; and the Methodist Brotherhood Mutual Benefit Association. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Yoder-Long and Folk Funeral Home with the Rev. Leonard A. Cook officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home.
