Additional: Leroy J. Dorsten, 74, formerly of rural St. Marys, died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at the Auglaize Acres Nursing Home in Wapakoneta. He was born March 5, 1926, in St. Marys, the son of Mathias and Ida (Stukenborg) Dorsten. Surviviors include a son, Joseph (Treda) Dorsten of Spencerville; a brother, Williiam (Janice) Dorsten of St. Marys; and three sisters, Mildred Holtman and LaVera (James) Dingledine, both of Celina, and Virgilene (Larry) Rich of Fort Wayne, Ind. He was preceded in death by a sisters, Mary Evelyn Dorsten, and four brothers, Paul Dorsten, Anthony Dorsten, Lavern Dorsten and Lester Dorsten. Mr. Dorsten was a veteran of the U.S., Army, having served as a TEC-5 in Germany during World War II. After his time in the service, he lived most of his adult life at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Chillicothe due to a disability. A 1944 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys, he was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Glynwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Oscar Seger officiating. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in Glynwood. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys.
