Additional: Kimberly Lynn Chaney, 39, 10380 State Route 29, Sidney, died suddenly at 1:24 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, in the emergency department of Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney. She was born Nov. 10, 1961 in St. Marys, the daughter of Jack Slife and Jeanne Gephart. Her father and his current wife, Laura, survive in New Bremen, and her mother and her current husband, Dick Gephart, survive in Union City, Tenn. Other survivors include two daughters, Peggy Chaney and Lindsey Chaney, both of Sidney; her fiance Tony Decker of Sidney; three brothers, Jeff Slife of Anna, Chad Slife of New Bremen and Wes (Miranda) Slife of St. Marys; three sisters, Julie Hardee and Jennifer (Mike) Stephens, both of St. Marys, and Nikki Barker of New Carlisle; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by a sisters Kelly Slife and a friend, Betty Luedeke. A homemaker, Mrs. Chaney was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys with Rev. David Heinl officiating. Friends may call from noon until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
