Additional: Charles "Charlie" Christian, 98, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Wapakoneta and Sidney, died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at his residence. He was born June 16, 1902, in Vulcan, W.Va., the son of Dan and Piety (Simpson) Christian. On Aug. 20, 1947, he married Wilma Lee Jones, who died in 1967. Survivors include six sons, David N. Christian of St. Marys, Charles E. Christian of Sidney, Harold T. Christian, Chester H. Christian and Dwight L. Christian, all of Tampa, Fla., and Franklin D. Christian of Broadhead, Ky.; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildlen and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Mr. Christian was an assembler at Copeland Corp., from where he retired after 20 years. He was a member of Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Wapakoneta. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Wapakoneta with Pastor Joe Farkasdi officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery in Moulton. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the Cromes Funeral Home in Sidney.
