Additional: New Knoxville, Dec. 26—Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the First Evangelical and Reformed Church for B. E. Cook, age 76, widely known and beloved New Knoxville citizen who died Saturday afternoon at 2:45 o'clock at his home here. The Rev. O.B. Moor conducted the services and burial is to be made in Pilger Ruhe cemetery. Mr. Cook died suddenly of a heart attack at 2:45 o'clock Saturday afternoon after a few days illness. Unfortunately since there was no newspaper published here on Sunday or Christmas Day, many of his friends were not informed of his death. For years he operated a general store in New Knoxville and so had a wide circle of acquaintances throughout the vicinity. He was a member of the First Evangelical and Reformed church taking an active interest in all of its affairs. He was president elect of the Men's Brotherhood and served as benevolence treasurer for the church. He was secretary of the Church board or consistory and had the interest of the church at heart. He was secretary of the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery association. In all of New Knoxville's civic enterprises he was a booster and could be counted upon for active support. Mr. Cook was the son of the late Henry and Elizabeth Venneman Cook and was born May 30, 1869 here in the village. On May 19, 1892 he married Anna Sophia Eversman who is left to mourn his death. In addition to his wife he is survived by one sister, Mrs. L. C. Mahn. On sister is deceased. There are a legion of friends throughout the county who feel a personal loss in the death of Mr. Cook.
