She was born March 10, 1915, in Chattanooga, to Henry C. and Margaret (Koch) Baker. On April 9, 1939, she married Carl F. Caywood, who died Nov. 29, 1996. Survivors are two sons and their wives, Don H. and Abbie of McCormick, S.C., and Calvin D. and Dianne of Celina; a daughter, Carlene Sue of St. Marys; a sister, Gertrude Hoblet, Chattanooga; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Deceased is a sister, Clista Fahncke. She taught at schools in St. Marys, Neptune and Celina and worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys. She was a member of the Founding Parents organization, which formed Auglaize School and Auglaize Industries. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys, and its Women's Guild and Rebecca Circle, Auglaize and Mercer counties' Delta Kappa Gamma professional sororities and Auglaize County Retired Teachers Association. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Patricia G. Minnick officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys. Calling is 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Contributions can be made to the church's endowment fund or the church's Ruth Arnold Steva Scholarship Fund.
