She was born Aug. 1, 1931, in Maria Stein, to Lawrence J. and Anna (Henke) Mescher. On Sept. 13, 1952, she married Lawrence E. Bender, who died Feb., 4, 1999. Survivors are a daughter and her husband, Linda and William Brueggeman, Fairfield, a daughter, Teresa O'Quinn, Cincinnati; four sisters and their husbands, Dorothy and Walter Imwalle, Velma and Robert Mescher and Delores and Roger Schwieterman, all Maria Stein, and Mary Ann and Anthony Quinter, Sidney, a sister, Irene Garmann, Minster, and two grandchildren. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 1391, Minster, and Minster Right to Life. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. William Hoyng officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery. Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater and 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
