Additional: The other was an elder and pillar of the [Fairview] church, one of its charter members and a man advanced in years. Mr. David Brewer closely related to some of the prominent families of this neighborhood and for a number of years an elder in Fairview church, was born April 8, 1832, in Clinton county, O. He was the son of Isam and Pherabe Brewer, who were Virginians. He became a member of the Presbyterian organization when it was worshipping at Charity Hall and before the Fairview church was built. He married Rebecca Altruison Nov. 1, 1855. He died August 16, 1899 aged a little over 67 years. The funeral was one of the largest ever held in the church.
