Additional: New Knoxville, Nov.11—William Dietrich Ahlers, age 66, millworker for the Hoge Lumber Company, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday at his home after an eleven months illness. He had begun working as a teamster at Hoge's 26 years ago and had been employed there steadily ever since. Mr. Ahlers was born in St. Marys township on Jan 23, 1887, the son of the late John and Anna Poppe Ahlers. On Nov 21, 1912, he married Clara Wierwille who survives along with their three children. Harold Ahlers, New Bremen, Mrs. Wilbert (Ethel) Sudman, New Bremen R.R. and Mrs. Lester (Lucille) Lutterbeck, New Knoxville. There are eight grandchildren. Three sisters and three brothers surviving are Mrs. Louis (Emma) Rohrbach and Miss Caroline Ahlers, St. Marys, Mrs. William (Marie) Landwehr, Ferd and August Ahlers, New Bremen and Harry Ahlers, Wenatchee, Wash. He was a member of the First Evangelical and Reformed church and the New Knoxville Home Benefit association. Funeral services are arranged for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Evangelical and Reformed church with Dr. D.A. Bode officiating. The church service will be preceded by a short service at home. Burial will take place in Willow Grove cemetery. His body will be removed from the Vornholt Funeral Home, New Bremen, to his own residence where friends may call after Friday noon until the hour of the services.
