Additional: Former New Bremen resident Frances A. Ahlers, 84, died at 2:30 p.m. May 27 near her home in Clearwater, Fla. She was born July 1, 1916, in St. Marys, to Charles and Rosena (Wibbler) Ruwoldt. On June 6, 1936, she married Harold Ahlers who died in 1976. Survivors are a son and his wife, William and Joan of New Bremen; two daughters and their husbands, Roslyn and Homer Stutsman, Botkins, and Elaine and Ernie Covault, Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Marcella Johnson, Jackson, Mich.; 12 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Deceased is a daughter, Jeanette Guffey. She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and Woodman of the World Camp 149, both of New Bremen. Services will held at a later date. Calling is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen. Contributions can be made to Hospice Foundation of the Florida Sun Coast.
