Additional: Former Wapakoneta resident, Christopher W. Agnew, 49, died of natural causes at 7:40 a.m. July 22 at his residence in rural Punxsutawney, Pa. He was born Feb. 21, 1951, in Lima, to George Robert and Agnes Rebecca (Newland) Agnew. On March 5, 1994, he married Mildred L. Wise Luther, who survives. Other survivors are a son and his wife, Dale R. and Lisa of Waynesfield, and a son, Gene P. of Wapakoneta; a stepson and his wife, Randy and Patty Luther, Huntsville; a stepdaughter and her husband, Beth and Shawn McGue, Lima; a brother and his wife, R. Milo and Victoria of Waynesfield; a sister and her husband, Candy and Robert Boyer, Austin, Texas; four grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren. Deceased is a son, Michael J. He was retired from the City of Wapakoneta Fire Department, serving as captain and fire chief. He was a board member of Ohio Chapter of International Association of Arson Investigators and taught at Apollo JVS and Bowling Green Fire School. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Elida, International and Ohio Societies of Fire Service Instructors, Auglaize County Fire Chiefs Association, and Northwestern Ohio Volunteer Firemen's Association. He was a 1969 graduate of Wapakoneta High School. Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, the Rev. James E. Burge officiating. Calling is at 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions can be made to Clearfield Hospice, Clearfield, Pa.
