Additional: Elizabeth C. (Betty) Zofkie, 72, 618 W. Pearl St., Wapakoneta, died at 12:17 a.m. Aug. 29, 2000 at her home. She was born Oct. 15, 1927, in Lima, to John and Mare (Mosgrove) Schenk. On June 18, 1949, she married Frank J. Zofkie, who died May 7, 1993. Survivors are a daughter and her husband, Nancy and John McCormick, Wapakoneta; a daughter, Jeanne Derryberry, Wapakoneta; three sons and their wives, David C. and Patsy, of Tacoma, Wash., and Thomas R. and Susan and John Q. and Jodie, all of Wapakoneta; two sons, Rick J. and Joseph E., both of Wapakoneta; a brother and his wife, Bernard and Pat Schenk, Lima; and 15 grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, John and Eugene Schenk. She was co-owner and operator of Zofkie Bridal Suite, Wapakoneta, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, and its Christian Mothers of the Church. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Peter Chiodo officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, with a rosary service at 8 p.m. Contributions can be made to St. Rita's Hospice or American Lung Association.
