Additional: Jean M. Springer, 73, 72 S. Canal St., Montezuma, died at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community in St. Marys. She was born Feb. 23, 1927 in Coldwater, the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Patterson) Becker. On July 14, 1946, she married Paul C. Springer, who died Dec. 12, 1993. Survivors include a son, Samuel (Lavonna) Springer of Montezuma; a daughter, Jennifer (Mike) Hall of Celina; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas; and three brother, Don Becker, Hubert Becker and Marion Becker. A homemaker, Mrs. Springer was a member of Montezuma Church of Christ. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at W.H. Dick and Sons Funeral Home in Celina with the Rev. Bill Cook officiating. Burial will be at Ellis Cemetery in Montezuma. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Montezuma Church of Christ or Hospice of Darke/Mercer Counties.
