Additional: James Marion Slone, 90, 412 S. Vine St., St. Marys, died at 12:55 a.m. July 11 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was born May 7, 1910, in Leburn, Ky., to William and Oma Slone. On Aug. 8, 1931, he married Bertha Allen, who survives. Other survivors are three sons and their wives, Glen and Thelma of Hollybush, Ky., Arthur and Jan of Lexington, Ky., and Charles and Margaret Slone-Fairchild, Raven, Ky.; a daughter and her husband, Betty and Quinton Slone, St. Marys; a daughter-in-law, Hattie of Garrett, Ky.; 38 grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. Deceased are two sons, Vernon and Amos, two daughters, Dixie Harris and Marie Slone, and several brothers and sisters. He was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, and had worked in the coal mines of Kentucky. He was a member of Mount Olive Old Regular Baptist Church, Pippa Passes, Ky. Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will follow after 5 p.m. Thursday, all day Friday and until services Saturday, with prayer services held Thursday and 7 p.m. Friday. Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, handled arrangements.
