Schroeder, 12071 Moulton-New Knoxville Road, died of malignant melanoma at 9:24 a.m Wednesday, April 13, 1994, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was born Sept. 17, 1943, on the farm where he lived to Lawrence and Lydia (Settlage) Schroeder. On Nov. 16, 1963, he married Patricia Meckstroth, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Mrs. John (Deborah) Katterheinrich, New Knoxville; Teresa Schroeder, Anna; Mrs. Ben (Jill) Baumer, Minster, a son, Darin, New Knoxville; three granddaughters, Kara and Jessica Katterheinrich and Meghan Baumer; two sisters, Dorothy Egan, New Knoxville; Mrs. Reuben (Lois) Eversman, LaPorte, Ind.; and a brothers, Charles, Delaware, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. Mr. Schroeder was a farmer and a machinist at Crown Equipment in New Bremen. He was an avid sports fan and a member of the Washington Township Zoning Board. He was a member of First United Church of Christ where he was a past deacon and trustee. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. The preferred memorial is to the church radio fund.
