She was born Jan 5, 1909, near New Bremen to John H. and Wilhelmina (Brueggeman) Kuest. On May 4, 1940, she married Emil E. Schroer, who died in November 1986. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Martha Schroer, New Bremen, two grandchildren, Daniel and Diana Schroer; two sister, Hilda and Alma Kuest, New Bremen; and a brother, Henry, New Bremen. Mrs. Schroer was a homemaker and prior to her marriage had been the manager of the grocery in the Arcade Department Store. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul United Church of Christ where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Gilberg Funeral Home with the Rev. John W. Tostrick officiating. Burial will be in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Ther preferred memorial is to the church memorial fund.
