Additional: Emil E. Schroer, 74, of Rt. 1, New Bremen, was pronounced dead on arrival at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, November 16, at 10:20 a.m. after suffering a heart attack at his home. He was born November 26, 1911, in New Knoxville, the son of Christ and Lena Buddemeyer Schroer. On May 4, 1940, he married Esther Kuest, who survives. Survivors also include on son James Schroer of Rt. 1, New Bremen; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Rodeheffer of St. Marys, and Mrs. James (Verneda) Ewing of Buckland; and two brothers, Elmer Schroer and Harvey Schroer, both of New Knoxville. A retired farmer, Mr. Schroer was a former member of the Auglaize County Fair Board for 30 years. He was also a self-employed masonry contractor. He had also driven a bus for New Bremen school for 15 years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, at Gilberg Funeral Home, New Bremen, with Rev. Dr. Wade J. Schemmel officiating. Burial will be in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Church Memorial Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
