Additional: Funeral services for Carmont W. Stearns, 76, of Wapakoneta, will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the late residence at 203 East Pearl Street, Wapakoneta. Rev. R. J. Loew will officiate and burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery. Fraternal services will be conducted by the Elks at 8 o'clock Sunday evening at the residence. Mr. Stearns died Thursday in St. Rita's hospital, Lima, where he had been a patient for the past week. He was born September 28, 1872, in Mercer County, a son of the late Rufus and Rebecca Fulkerson Stearns. He resided in Wapakoneta since 1913. On July 13, 1898, he married Margaret Green of Celina, who died April 7, 1913. He was married to Louella Weimert on January 17, 1924. Mr. and Mrs. Stearns celebrated their silver wedding anniversary on January 17 of this year. Surviving with his widow are two sons D.E. Stearns of Shreveport, La. and Ned C. Stearns of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren; two brothers Charles H. Stearns of Whittier, Calif.; and R.E. Stearns of Los Angeles; and one sister, Mrs. Bess Mitchell of Los Angeles. For a number of years Mr. Stearns served as the stationary engineer for the St. Marys Paper Company, and the Marion, Ind., Paper Company. He was a motorman on the old Western Ohio Electric railroad for 19 years and in recent years had been the stationary engineer at the Auglaize County Court House.
