She was born Sept. 12, 1948, in Celina, to Frederick Lester and Beulah Roberts (Byrley) Morgan. Her mother survives in Celina. On July 1, 1980, she married Steven Schmidt, who survives. Other survivors are a son, Cory Lee Newland, Celina; four step-daughters and their husbands, Shauna and Tom Wyant, Stephanie and Joe Albright, and Chasity and Bill Schmidt, all of Mount Vernon, Ind., and Tonya and Jeff Phipps, Dearborn, Mich.; two brothers and their wives, Ernie and Glenda Ginter, Belleview, Fla., and Larry and Linda Byrley, Napoleon; a brother, Samuel Morgan, Celina; two sisters and their husbands, Janice (Sue) and Bill Norris, Celina, and Sandra and John Bussing, Defiance; two sisters, Michaelene Leiss, Celina, and Carolyn Morgan, Melrose; and seven step-grandchildren. Deceased are her father and a brother, Richard Ginter. She was employed at Miller's Textile, Inc., Wapakoneta, and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 8445, Wapakoneta. Services are 10 a.m. Friday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Larry Eads officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina. Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
