Additional: Arthur L. Shroyer, 82, 318 S. Mill St., Botkins, died at 6:55 p.m. May 14 at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home. He was born September 15, 1918, near Quincy, to Oscar and Olive (Kiser) Shroyer. On September 27, 1940 he married Margaret Wehmeyer who survives. Other survivors are a son and his wife, Edward and Mary Ann of Wapakoneta; a daughter and her husband, Annette and Thomas Barlow, Manchester, Conn.; a brother, Sherman of Kettlersville; a sister and her husband, Helen and Paul Pulfer, Maplewood, and a sister, Dorthea Teeters, Celina; and two granddaughters. Deceased is a son, Allen R. He was the former mayor of Port Jefferson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served as Staff Sergeant with the 2nd Battalion 115th Infantry Regiment 29th Division. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Kettlersville, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2216, Jackson Center, and a member of Disabled American Veterans of Shelby County. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. James Melter officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Calling is 3-7 p.m. Friday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. Contributions can be made to the church memorial fund.
