Additional: Orville C. Ruedebusch, 91, 32 S. Herman St., New Bremen, died at 1:20 p.m. March 5 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster. He was born Feb. 1, 1910, near New Bremen, to Henry D. and Emma (Kuest) Ruedebusch. On Dec. 25, 1934, he married Dorothy Lietz, who died in February 1967. On Sept. 30, 1971, he married Irene (Kettler) Blanke, who died Dec. 22, 1990. Survivors are a daughter, Joyce of Grove City; a sister, Margaret Slattery, Wapakoneta; and a sister-in-law, Althea of Wapakoneta. Deceased are two brothers, Paul and Norman. He was retired from the United States Postal Service in New Bremen, serving the last 13 years as postal master. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the European Theatre during World War II. He served clerk of the New Bremen School Board, and was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and American Legion Post 241, both of New Bremen, of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8445, Wapakoneta, National Association of Postmasters, the Woodman of the World Camp 149, B.P.O.E. Mercer County Lodge 2170, and a charter member of New Bremen Historic Association. He was a 1928 graduate of New Bremen High School. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Revs. John W. Tostrick and Jeanne Spoor officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Contributions can be made to the church's memorial fund.
