Additional: Henry B. Potthoff, 81, 602 Murray St., Wapakoneta, died at 2:07 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima. He died of injuries resulting from an automobile accident that occurred that afternoon on Hume Road near Kemp Road in Allen County. He was born April 1, 1919 in Cloverdale, the son of Theodore and Margaret (Krieger) Potthoff. On May 25, 1940, he married Marie P. Diegelman, who survives. Other survivors include a brother, Edwin (Virginia) Potthoff of Cloverdale; a sister-in-law, Marcille Potthoff of Norwood; a brother-in-law, Earl J. Krietzer of Wapakoneta; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Potthoff; a brother-in-law, the Rev. Clarence Diegelman; and two sisters- in-law, Sister Maurice (Alma) Diegelman C.P.P.S. and Helen Kreitzer. Mr. Potthoff was retired as manager of the former Uhlman's store in Wapakoneta after 31 years of employment. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. A 1937 graduate of Ottoville High School, he was a former baker with Mount St. Marys Seminary in Norwood. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta and the Holy Name Society of the Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter Chiodo officiating. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Botkins. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, Wapakoneta Chapel in Wapakoneta. A Christian Prayer Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
