Additional: New Knoxville—August Frank Prueter, 72, of New Knoxville, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the chest. Auglaize county Coroner Dr. Richard Schaefers ruled the death a suicide. Mr. Prueter had reportedly been despondent over ill health. Born April 9, 1889, in Moulton, he was married Dec. 25, 1915 to Bertha Duhme, who survives with eight children. They are Earl of New Bremen, Mrs. (Naomi) Howe of New Knoxville, Paul at home, James of Elwood, Mrs. Irma Hoelscher, Don, Mrs. Nancy Bambauer, all of Rt. 1, New Knoxville; 17 grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred, Rt. 2, Wapakoneta and Charles, Rt. 2, St. Marys; two sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Anderson of Wapakoneta and Mrs. Emma Feil of San Antonio, Tex. He was a member of the German Bible Class and the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, and a retired carpenter. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church, Rev. Richard B. Meckstroth officiating. Burial will be in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery. Friends may call at the Vorhholt Funeral Home any time today exept between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. and until 10:30 a.m. Monday when the body will be removed to the church until time of services.
