She was born July 25, 1926, in St. Marys to Vernon F. and Martha W. (Hilgeman) Schnarre. On June 6, 1948, she married Russell D. Oxender. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Rodric Hersha, Napoleon; Penny and Dennis Miller, Pioneer; Joan and David Provezans, Wauseon; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Patricia, Pioneer; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon, St. Marys; John, Harrisburg, Pa and a sister and spouse Wilma and Edward Kuenning, Celina. Mrs. Oxender retired in 1991 after 30 years with the North Central School System and was a member of the Williams County Retired Teachers Association. She was a 1944 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys, received a B.S. degree in Education from Ohio State University and a Masters Degree from the University of Toledo. She was the immediate past president of the Lions Club and a member of the Sequi Study Club, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Phi Delta Kappa Sorority and the Pioneer Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Pioneer United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. Services ..at the church with the Rev. Jerel L. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Floral Grove. Preferred memorials are to the church and the Lions Club
