Additional: Rozella A. Opperman, 88, 7576 Lock Two Road, Botkins, died at 5:48 a.m. March 14 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was born July 15, 1912, in McGuffey, to Orville and Adra (Armentrout) Fickel. On Oct. 8, 1932, she married George (Bill) Opperman, who survives in St. Marys Living Center Assisted Living wing. Other survivors are two sons and their wives, John and Geneva, Wapakoneta, and Paul and Shirley, Huntsville; a daughter and her husband, Alice and John Elson, Bradford; a brother, Isaac Jacob Fickel, Newport Ritchie, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Deceased are a sister, Imogene Hunsiker, and a great-grandchild. She was a homemaker and assisted in the family dairy farm operation. She was a member of Wapakoneta Church of the Nazarene, where she served on the board, taught Sunday school and received the Distinguished Service Award. She was a graduate of McGuffey High School. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Stephen Smitley officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Calling is 3-7 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Contributions can be made to the church.
