Additional: Thoms "Bud" Nelson, 67, of 1217 Sixth St.., Palmetto Fla., a former St. Marys resident, died Sunday in Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Fla. He was born Jan. 14, 1914 in Dayton. Twenty-two years ago he moved from St. Marys. Survivors include his wife, Eleanore (Heil) Nelson; a son, James of Bradenton, Fla.; two grandsons; one brother, Verling of St. Marys; and a sister Bernice Long of Indianapolis, Ind. Mr. Nelson was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Palmetto. He was a retired truck driver. Services will be held at 22 a.m. Thursday in the Edward Funeral Home; Palmetto, Fla. Burial will be at Skyway Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
