Additional: New Bremen—Irene E. Niemeyer, 67, 6561 County Road 66A, died at 8:41 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 1993, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was born May 28, 1926, in Ft. Loramie to Bernard and Elizabeth (Schlater) Aselage. On Feb. 8, 1949, she married Robert W. "Bud" Niemeyer, who survives. She is also survived by three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Pam) Steinmetz, Greenville; Mrs. Buff (Janet) Fritz, Ocala, Fla; Mrs. Todd (Elaine) Meineke, Villa HIlls, Ky.; seven grandchildren Nathan Steinmetz, Liza, Casey and Ben Fritz, Jessica, Sara and Matt Meineke; two sistrs, Mrs. William (Helen) Thoma, Dayton; and Mrs. Adolph (Rita) Thoma, Sidney, She was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Fisher and Kathryn "Babe" Winner and four brothers, Leo, Dutch, Herb and Lud. Mrs. Niemeyer was vice president of NUPCO, Inc., which she and her husband founded. She was a member of the American Legion Post 241 Auxiliary, the VFW Post 9289 Auxiliary in St. Marys and Eagles Aerie 1391 Auxiliary in Minster. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. James F. Trick officiating. Burial will be in German Protestant Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Gilberg Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.
