Additional: Clyde P. Newlove, 80, 535 Defiance Road, St. Marys, died at 4:45 p.m. Oct. 5 at St. Marys Living Center. He was born May 18, 1920, in Wood County, to Joseph and Rosa (Wegscheider) Newlove. On April 23, 1941, he married Jeanne Brobst, who survives. Other survivors are a son and his wife, Dane and Karen of St. Marys; four brother, Joseph, Albert, Robert, and John, all of Bowling Green; a sister Margaret Eckert, Bowling Green; and three grandchildren. Deceased is a twin brother, Claude, a brother, Richard, and a sister, Marie. He was a farmer and was employed at Brush Wellman Co., Elmore where he worked on various U.S. Dept. of Defense and N.A.S.A. programs. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant in the Third Infantry Division in the European Theatre. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge during the counterattack against the German Army by Gen. George Patton. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, and a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cygnet. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1148 and American Legion Post 539, North Baltimore. Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, the Revs. David A. Heinl and James O. Byrne officiating. Burial with graveside military rites are 3 p.m. at the New Maplewood Cemetery in North Baltimore. Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Contributions can be made to St. Marys Band Parents Organization or Holy Rosary School.
