Additional: Robert (Mac) McConnell, 67, 08147 County Road 33A, Moulton, died at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 1 at his residence. He was born March 21, 1933, in Van Wert County, to Thomas and Jesslyn (Brown) McConnell. On Oct. 20, 1956, he married Doris Ann Hobler, who survives. Other survivors are a daughter and her husband, Pamela and Mark Mosier, Moulton, and a daughter, Dawn McVety, New Bremen; a son and his wife, Britt and Tammy of Coldwater; a brother, Marvin of St. Marys; and a half-sister, Lois Davidson, of Montana. He was a retired deputy sergeant of the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office, and was a former lineman for Tucson, Ariz., Electric Co. and Midwest Electric, Moulton. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War, and served in Company's K and H of the Ohio National Guard. He served as past president of the Blue Knights, a motorcycle club of police officers, and Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 199. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moulton, where he served as deacon and member of the church council. He was a member of the Buckeye Sheriff's Association, Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) 76, and American Legion Post 323, St. Marys. He was a 1951 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and a graduate of Tucson Police Academy. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Roger Phillips officiating. Burial with military burial rites conducted by the American Legion and Veteran of Foreign Wars posts is at Salem Cemetery, Monticello. Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with memorial services conducted by the American Legion at 7 p.m. and by the FOP at 9 p.m. Contributions can be made to FOP (Shop With A Cop) Christmas Fund.
