She was born May 11, 1906, in Shelby County to Henry and Catherine (Hemmert) Stegeman. On Nov.9, 1927, she married Franklin J. Metzger who died March 7, 1974. Survivors are a son and his wife, Tom and Judy of Wapakoneta; a daughter and her husband, Eileen and Dick Brorein, Wapakoneta; a son-in-law, George Meier, Wapakoneta; and a daughter-in-law of Ravenna; nine grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Mary Meier, a son Richard, three sisters, Marcella Schnippel, Lidwina Brewer and Mary Tobias, a brother Elmo Stegeman, and an infant brother. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, and its former Catholic Ladies organization. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Peter Chiodo officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery. Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, where a Christian prayer service will be held at 8 p.m., the Rev. William Eilerman officiating. Contributions can be made to Auglaize Acres Activity Fund.
