Additional: Indianapolis, Ind.-Rev. Paul Lammers, 85, 3525 E. Hanna Ave., died Sunday Aug. 29, 1993, at Altenheim Community. He was born July 4, 1908, near Julesburg, Colo. to Fred and Matilda (Fledderjohn) Lammers. In 1934 he married Alice Marian Wierwille, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Jean Niewald and Lois Baur, a son, Mark; eight grandchildrren; and a brother, Silas. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Silas and Victor, and a sister, Tabitha. Rev. Lammers retired in 1974 after 32 years as a minister for the United Church of Christ. The Lammers family moved to a farm near New Knoxville, Ohio, in 1911 and he was confirmed at First Reformed (First UCC) Church in New Knoxville March 25, 1923. He was a 1927 graduate of New Knoxville High School, a 1931 graduate of Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio and a 1934 graduate of Central Seminary (now part of Eden Seminary) in Dayton, Ohio. Rev. Lammers served rural and small town churches in Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. He served on the National Heifer Project, Church World Service, C.R.O.P. and other relief programs and helped collect milk goats for and visited Ghana, W. Africa in 1963. His hobbies included organic gardening, genetic experimentation wih edible soybeans, breeding and training border collies, reading and senior citizen activities. Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at G.H. Hermann Madison Avenue Funeral Home and at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville. Friends may call from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at funeral home.
