Additional: New Knoxville—Lewis H. Lammers, 70, Botkins Angle Road, died while on vaction at 6:45 Friday, June 16, 1989, at Mitchell Methodist Hospital, Mitchell, S.D. He was born Dec. 7, 1918, in New Knoxville, to Henry and Viola (Henkener) Lammers. On Dec. 4, 1942, he married Wilma Schmidt, who survives. He is also survived by his mother in New Knoxville; two sons, the Rev. Tom, Hankinson, N.D.; Ted, New Knoxville; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Patricia) Tippie, Rapid City, S.D.; eight grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Martha) Hoelscher and Mrs. Vernon (Joann) Feldwisch, both of New Knoxville. Mr. Lammers was retired from farming. He was a member of the New Knoxville Local Board of Education from 1966 to 1974. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ where he was president of the consistory, a deacon and an elder. Services will be at 10:30 a.m Thursday at the church with the Rev. Jon Coddington and Nathan Wierwille officiating. Burial will be in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home. The preferred memorials are the Amercan Lung Association and the Church's Radio Broadcast Fund.
