Additional: Spencerville—Virginia F. Kennedy, 72, of here, died at 6:20 p.m. Monday at her residence, following a sudden illness. She was born Jan. 6, 1915, in Noble Township, Auglaize County, the daughter of Joseph and Julia C. Rohr BAnning. On Dec. 31, 1941, she married Walter A. Kennedy who died April 28, 1981. Mrs. Kennedy was a retired elementary schoolteacher after 32 years of teaching in the Mendon, Rockford, Fort Jennings, and Spencerville areas. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys, Ohio Education Association, and Bowersock Brothers Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 6772. Survivers include one son, Bruce C. Kennedy of Delphos; one daughter, Mrs. John C. (R. Christina) Brodie Jr. of Van Wert; and two granddaughters. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, Revs. Theodore T. Stellhorn III and John O. Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Friends may call 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Van Wert Visiting Nurses Association.
