Additional: New Bremen—Henry August Howe, 77, New Bremen, died Wednesday at Joint Township Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was born Aug. 11, 1886, in Shelby County the son of William and Sophia Stolte Howe. He was married Dec. 30, 1909, to Sara Elizabeth Huelsmeyer. She died Aug 26, 1951. He is survived by four sons, Harold (Chick) and Donald New Knoxville; Virgil, Minster and Lester, New Bremen; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Erma) Grieves, Botkins; Mrs. Elda Funk, St. Marys, and Mrs. Herbert (Dorothy) Berning, New Bremen; 27 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; a brother, Louis, Anna; three sisters, Mrs. Matilda Clausing, Lima; Mrs. Martha Meckstroth, New Knoxville and Mrs. Ben (Emma) Harlamart, Anna. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. He was a retired farmer and was employed at Hoffman Decorators until his retirement five years ago. Funeral services wil be 2 p.m. Saturday in Gilberg Funeral Home. Rev. James Egbert will officiate and burial will be in German Protestant Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Friday and until time for services. Memorials may be given to the cancer fund.
