Additional: Wapakoneta—Charles A. Huffman Sr., 83, formerly of Moulton, father of Charles A. Huffman Jr. of Botkins, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000 at 4:52 p.m. at the Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home. He was born May 17, 1917, in St. Marys, the son of Charles A. and Victoria (Dorfer) Huffman. On Nov. 8, 1941, he married the former Mary Ellen Schnell, who died June 21, 1993. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Jeanette) Gronas of Wapakoneta; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great and two step great-grandchildren. A brother and two sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Huffman served in World War II as a paratrooper in the European Theatre. He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in St. Marys. Services wil be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Baliff and Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta with the Rev. Rick Brouser officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta where graveside military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 8445. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the heart association.
