Additional: Gloria June Gabel, 68, 107 N. Main St., New Knoxville, died at 11:34 p.m. Jan. 2 at South Bay Hospital, Sun City Center, Fla. She was born July 19, 1931, in Waterbury, Conn., to Henry and Katherine (Gasser) McHugh. On Jan. 31, 1953, she married Thomas Gabel, who survives. Other survivors are two daughters and their husbands, Monica and Larry Wills, Plantation, Fla., and Meredith and Todd Pratt, Seffner, Fla.; six sons and their wives, Henry and Christy and Matt and Angie, all of New Knoxville, Thomas and Mary Jo of Minster, Andrew and Nancy of Spencerville, John and Laura of Wapakoneta and Chris and Gail of Gastonia, N.C., and a son, Eric of Columbus; 21 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She was retired after working at Copeland Corp., Sidney. She was a member of American Legion Post 444 Auxiliary, New Knoxville. She was a graduate of Wilby High School, Waterbury, Conn. Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, the Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial is at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville. Calling is 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 Friday at Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, New Knoxville. Contributions can be made to the American Lung Association or American Legion Post Auxiliary Fund.
