He was born Oct. 16, 1911, in Duquense, Pa., to Christian and Rosine (Petit) Froehlich. On Nov. 11, 1936, he married Mary Cella McElhinny, who died March 26, 1994. Survivors are three sons and their wives, Jacob Clare and Harriet of Virginia Beach, Va., John Mark and Patricia of Shenandoah, Va., and Paul and Eileen of Coldwater; a daughter and her husband, Marion and John Comella, Euclid; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Zella Marie Stroud-Lucy, a stepfather, William J. Bost, and four sisters, Anna Mayer, Lena Ruhe, Catherine Paskert and Rosella Froehlich. He was retired from Harshaw Chemical in Elyria, and a member of St. Patrick Church and its Holy Name Society, Wellington. Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Infant Catholic Church in Elkton, Va., the Rev. Kenneth Wood officiating. Burial is at Rest Haven Cemetery, Shenandoah, Va.
