Additional: Wapakoneta—Walter R. Eversman, 82, 908 Race St., native of New Knoxville, died Tuesday at 10:25 a.m. at the Lima St. Rita's Medical Center. He had been ill for some time. He was born May 11, 1897, son of Henry and Anna (Settlage) Eversman. On April 7, 1927, he and the former Edna Bishop were married. She died Aug. 25, 1976. Survivors include five children, Mrs. Robert (Loletta) Gard of Elkhart, Ind., Mrs. Nelson (Anna) Greve, R.R.2, Wapakoneta, Walter J. of Liberty, S.C., Donald J. of Union, Mich., and Arthur L. of Wapakoneta; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Three grandchildren and three brothers are deceased. Mr. Eversman retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years employment. He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Wapakoneta, and the Moulton Gun Club and the Shawnee Long Rifle Club. Services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Harold Thiedt officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Friends may call at the Charles D. Siferd Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, this afternoon and evening. The family has requested memorials be made to the Church or the American Heaart Association.
