Additional: New Knoxville, July 10, Marvin W. Eversman, 14 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Eversman, southeast of here, was killed almost instantly Thursday afternoon when he fell from a farm wagon being used to haul wheat from the field into the barn for thrashing. The tragic accident happened at 1:15 o'clock. The youth was riding on the wagon, partly loaded, when he is believed to have lost his balance. He toppled off head-first, his head striking a wagon wheel. He received a head injury and a broken neck which proved fatal within a few minutes after the accident occurred. Marvin was born Nov. 29, 1927, a son of Wesley and Viola Kuck Eversman, both of whom survive. Left to mourn his death besides the bereaved parents are two younger brothers, Reuben and Roger Paul, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry H. Eversman and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore H. Kuck. There are many other relatives and friends who join the family in mourning his death. The youth was a pupil in New Knoxville high school where he had taken an active part in school activities. He was a member of the school band and had played on the baseball team, participating wholeheartedly in these organizations. Marvin was a member of the First Evangelical Reformed church and its Sunday school. He belonged to the Young People's society and sang in the organizations choir. Funeral services are arranged for Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the family residence and at 2 o'clock at the Evangelical Reformed church with Dr. D.A. Bode officiating. Burial will take place in Pilger Ruhe cemetery. Friends may call any time Saturday afternoon and evening at the home.
