Additional: New Knoxville—Floranz E. Elshoff, 80 of 217 W. Spring St., New Knoxville, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 1984 at 6:15 p.m. at his home following a sudden apparent heart attack. He was born May 21, 1904 in St. Marys Township, Auglaize County, the son of Ernst W. and Sarah (Holtkamp) Elshoff. He was first married June 18, 1927 to Esther Huckriede, she died Oct. 1, 1937. He was then married on April 19, 1942 to Velma L. Henschen. She survives with three sons; Eldred Elshoff of LaCanada, Ca; Kenneth Elshoff of Columbus and Mack Elshoff of New Knoxville; ten grandchildren; one brother, Harvey Elshoff of St. Marys; and two sisters, Lydia Niemeyer and Alvina Niemeyer, both of New Knoxville. Preceding him in death was a brother, Walter, and a sister, Selma Haberkamp. A retired carpenter, Mr. Elshoff was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, where he had served as elder and deacon, and where he was a member of the church choir for 50 years. He also served as a member of the New Knoxville School Board. His funeral services will be at the church at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. John R. Coddington officiating. Burial will follow in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville. Friends may call at the Vornholt Funeral Home, New Knoxville, on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. The preferred memorials are the church memorial fund or the American Heart Association.
