Additional: Norman L. Dunlap, 79, Ft. Wayne, Ind., formerly of St. Marys, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born Sept 24, 1921, in Rushmore. He is survived by his wife, Lue Dunlap. Other survivors include three sons, Dave Dunlap of New Bremen, Dan Dunlap of Minster and Scott Dunlap of Statesvcille, N.C.; two stepsons, Mark Feighner of Dallas, Texas and Lance Feighner of Fort Wayne; a stepdaughter, Jan Tidwell of Ft. Wayne; a brother, George Dunlap of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Dunlap was a consultant in the machine tool industry. From 1947 to 1981, he worked at Minster Machine Co., where he was an engineer, sales manager and general manager. He also served on the boards of Kingsbury Machine Tool, Minster State Bank, HPM of Mount Gilead, Minster Machine Co, Midmark Medical of Versailles and Litton Industries. He was a charter member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and a member of the National Safety Council and the Oriental Order of Groundhogs. He was honored as a "Living Legend" by the National Tool Builders Association. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home in Fort Wayne. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Ossian, Ind. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association.
