Additional: Laura A. Bowsher, 81, of Wood Street, Wapakoneta, died at 11:50 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 1997, at her residence. She was born July 15, 1916 in Dayton, the daughter of Roy and Martha (Shuler) Youngs. On Sept 3, 1944 she married Walter R. Bowsher, Jr. and he died March 15, 1971. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter R. and Ida Bowsher, III, James R. and Kazuko Bowsher all of Wapakoneta, two grandsons, Eric and Neil Bowsher, and a sister, Jane Ritchie, Wapakoneta. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Henry Youngs. A homemaker, Mrs. Bowsher had worked as a secretary with the Auglaize County Treasurer's Office, the Auglaize Co. Soil and Water Conservation Office and later with the law offices of Connaughton & Weger, all of Wapakoneta. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, the Irving Club and the O.E.S. Koneta Chapter #385, Wapakoneta. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Steven I. Nelson officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. The body will lie in state at the church, one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the First English Lutheran Church, or the Auglaize Co. Library.
