FLEDDERJOHN, 76, wife of a retired United Church of Christ
minister, died Monday at her home. She suffered a heart
attack. She and her busband, Rev. Ernest FLEDDERJOHN, moved
to New Knoxville upon his retirement in 1953. He was a native
of this area and was a professor of theology at Mission House
Seminary Plymouth, Wis., from 1937 to 1953. Since his
retirement he has served as a supply pastor in this area. He
previously was pastor at churches in New Philadelphia,
Chicago and Iowa. She is survived by her husband; two
daughters, Mrs. George (Ester) FERNER of Cuyahoga Falls, Mrs.
Lad (Julia) JACK of Berwin, Ill; a son, Donald FLEDDERJOHN of
Pitsburg; four sisters, Mrs. Julie EDRINGTON of Dearfield
Beach, Fla., Mrs. Mary RANKIN of Louisvile, Ky., Mrs. Emilie
CHURCHMAN of Boston, Ky., and Mrs. Evangeline FUNK of San
Diego, Calif.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will
be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Church of Christ
in New Knoxville, with Rev. R.B. Meckstroth officiating.
Burial will be in the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery. Ther body will
remain at the Yoder and Long Funeral Home in St. Marys until
Friday morning when friends may call at the church from 11
a.m. unntil the time of the services.

STRASBURG, 73, retired laborer who died Wednesday in St.
Marys Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Vornholt
Funeral Home with the Rev. E.H. Bassler pastor of St. Paul's
Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be
in German Protestant Cemetery. Surviving are a daughter,
Laverta, at home; two sisters, Emma STRASBURG of here (Lima)
and Mrs. Benjamin SPRAGUE, St. Marys, and two brothers,
Benjamin of near St. Marys and Leo of near New Bremen. The
body will remain at the funeral home until after services.

Obituary / Additional Information: Ewald D. KUCK, 77 of 420
S. Washington St., New Bremen, died at 7 p.m. Friday in Joint
Township District Memorial Hospital. Mr. KUCK had been ill
for two years. Born on February 26, 1905 in Shelby County, he
was the son of Henry and Louise SCHROER KUCK. On October 25,
1934, he married Esther QUELLHORST, who survives. Survivors
also include three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Frances) REESE,
Pandora, Mrs. Barbara DILL, Alexandria Va., and Mrs. Larry
(Lois) COOK, Rt. 3, Wapakoneta; three sons, David and Lee
KUCK, both of New Bremen and William KUCK of Rt.1, New
Bremen; and 14 grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Michael
(Helen) HAESEKER, one granddaughter, five brothers, two
sisters and one half-sister preceded him in death. Mr. KUCK
was a member of the New Bremen Senior Citizens, Farm Bureau
and the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville. He
was a retired farmer and had owned and operated a silo
building business for many years. After his retirement, he
worked for the Lageman Garage until two years ago. Services
will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Gilberg Funeral Home,
New Bremen with the Rev. Richard Sather officiating. Burial
will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. Monday. Memorials may be directed to the First United
Church of Christ Radio Broadcast Fund or the Crippled
Children's Fund.

102 West St., New Knoxville, died at 11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12,
of a sudden heart attack at the Lake Drive In Theatre,
Celina. Born June 6, 1896, near New Knoxville, he was the son
of William and Mary (DUHME) KUCK. In 1917 he married Ruth
HARMEYER who preceded him in death in 1948. He then married
Irene HOELSCHER who preceded him in death in 1958. He then
married Emma WIERWILLE who preceded him in death 1968.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Grace)
HENSCHEN, New Knoxville, two sons Adrian KUCK, R.R.1, New
Knoxville; Reverend Dale KUCK, Merrill, Wisconsin; six
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter
B. KUCK, New Knoxville; and one sister, Mrs. Fredia CORNWELL,
Lima. One brother, Harvey Raymond KUCK and one sister, Mrs.
Harvey (Amanda) BAMBAUER preceded him in death. Mr. KUCK was
a retired farmer. He was a member of the First United Church
of Christ, New Knoxville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.
Tuesday, at the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville
with the Reverend Gary Kwiatek officiating. Burial will be in
the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery. Friends may call the Vornholt
Funeral Home, New Knoxville from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9
p.m. today, also until 11 a.m. Tuesday when the body will be
moved to the church to lie in state until the time of the

Additional Information: Wapakoneta-Norman F. RUEDEBUSCH, 76,
of Glynwood Road, Wapakoneta, died at 10:44 a.m. Monday,
March 22, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born June
27, 1922 at Lock Two, Auglaize County, to Henry and Emma
KUEST RUEDEBUSCH. On Sept 6, 1952, he married Althea S.
SLATTERY. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Bruce and
Polly RUEDEBUSCH of Wapakoneta; one daughter, Susan and Tim
MCCARTY of Dublin, Ohio; four grandchildren Madison Elise and
Wesley Bruce RUEDBUSCH, and Benjamin Timothy and Christopher
Norman MCCARTY; one brother, Orville RUEDEBUSCH of New
Bremen; and one sister, Margaret SLATTERY of Wapakoneta. He
was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, and infants
Richard, Willis and Wilfred. Mr. RUEDEBUSCH owned and
operated Slattery Service Inc. at Wapakoneta until his
retirement in 1987. Later he worked with the Mike Swaney Auto
Dealership at Wapakoneta. He was a member of the First United
Methodist Church at Wapakoneta and a veteran of the U.S. Army
Air Corps, having served during World War II. He was a life
member of the Wapakoneta Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8445,
a member of the American Legion Post #330, and the Fraternal
Order of Eagles, Aerie #691, all of Wapakoneta. He was also a
member of the Woodman of the World at New Bremen. Funeral
services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in the First United
Methodist Church with the Rev. G. Richard Bell officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery at Wapakoneta, where
military graveside services will be conducted by the
Wapakoneta V.F.W. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m.
and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home
at Wapakoneta, and one hour prior to services at the church.

19- The Rev. William A. SETTLAGE, age 72, retired pastor of
the Reformed church, died at 11:50 o'clock Friday morning at
the memorial hospital where he was under treatment for an
acute heart ailment. He had been bedfast for the last two
weeks but had been ailing for some time. Until very recently
the Rev. Mr. SETTLAGE had continued in service as a
substitute pastor for the Evangelical-Reformed churches in
this neighborhood, and was in popular demand as a speaker at
church organization meetings in his native village of New
Knoxville, and in New Bremen and St. Marys as well as other
points. He had served as substitute pastor of the First
Evangelical Reformed church during the interval beween the
pastorates of Dr. O.B. MOOR and Dr. D.A. BODE, the present
minister of the local church, and was always a helpful and
willing servant of the congregation, gladly giving of his
time and efforts toward its furtherance. The Rev. Mr.
SETTLAGE was a son of the late Fred E. and Mary E. WIERWILLE
SETTLAGE and was born in Washington township on January 15,
1868. He attended the New Bremen High School, then continued
his education at the Mission House Academy, College and
Seminary in Plymouth, Wis. Following his ordination in 1895
as a pastor of the Reformed church he served congregations in
Potter, Wis., Spencerville, Kenton, Marion, Bluffton,
Buffalo, N.Y., Indianapolis, Ind., Lindsay, O., Cochranton,
Pa., Salem, St. Louis, Mo. He served too for a period as
financial secretary of the Home for the Aged at Bascomb, O.
During his long years in the ministry the Rev. Mr. SETTLAGE
gained a large acquaintance and there was widespread sorrow
at the word of his death. In 1895, the Rev. Mr. SETTLAGE
married Magdalene E. FLEDDERJOHANN whose death occurred in
1921. Three children were born to them. Miss Phoebe SETTLAGE,
Cottey College. Mo., Dr. Arnold SETTLAGE, Worthington, O.,
and Victor SETTLAGE, whose death occurred in 1919. In 1923 he
married Alice MUELLER, dean of women at Bluffton College, who
is left to mourn his death. One daughter, Mary Elizabeth, at
home, was born to them. Surviving the Rev. Mr. SETTLAGE in
addition to his wife and three children are a brother, Lewis
H. SETTLAGE, St. Marys R.R., and two sisters, Mrs. Magdalene
HILGEMAN, Bay City, Mich., and Mrs. Sophia BUCKLOH, who
resides with Lewis SETTLAGE. There is one grandson, Robert
SETTLAGE. Friends may call at the Vornholt Funeral Home, New
Bremen, anytime Sunday afternoon or evening to view the Rev.
Mr. SETTLAGE's body. It will be removed at 10:30 o'clock
Tuesday morning to the First Evangelical Reformed church
where it will lie in state until 1:30 o'clock Tuesday
afternoon when the funeral services will be held. Dr. D.A.
Bode will officiate. Burial will take place in Pilger Ruhe
cemetery.

St., Piqua, died at 10:53 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in the
Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born Feb. 18, 1923, in
St. Marys, the daughter of Hershall A. and Edna M.
(KELLERMEYER) RUSSELL. Her first husband, WIlliam E.
BAUMGARDNER, preceded her in death. On Nov. 22, 1978, in
North Lawrence, she married Eugene W. SCHMIDT, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, W. Malcom BAUMGARDNER of
North Royalton and Craig BAUMGARDNER of Tempe, Ariz.; two
daughters, Dian (James) CATTARIN of North Lawrence and Jane
WILCOX of Piqua; two sisters, Fae STEINECKER and Charmaine
(the Rev. Carl) LEACH, both of St. Marys; 11 grandchildren
and 10 great-grandchildren. A graduate of Memorial High
school in St. Marys, Mrs. SCHMIDT was a shop office expediter
at French Oil Mill Machine Co. She was a member of the St.
Paul's United Church of Christ and Church Circle in Piqua.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Jamieson
& Yannucci Funeral Home in Piqua with the Rev. Jack Chalk
officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery in St.
Marys at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the

Additional Information: Ferd L. STROH, age 80, 207 Eastway
Court, Villa Nova, died at 4:20 a.m. today at Joint Township
Memorial hospital after a brief illness. Mr. STROH was found
unconscious by his son, Richard when he stopped at the home
to visit with him. He apparently had suffered a stroke
earlier in the evening. Mr. STROH was born May 5, 1883 in
Auglaize County, a son of Conrad and Anna HAUSS STROH. On
Oct.4, 1911 he married Henrietta KEMPER, who survives along
with three sons, Harold of Celina, Richard and Robert of St.
Marys, six grandchildren, one brother, Carl STROH, St. Marys,
one sister, Mrs. William SHANNON, Wapakoneta and a half-
sister, Mrs. Ida Martin, Wapakoneta. He was last employed at
Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He had been retired for
some time. He was a member of Auglaize Aerie 767, Fraternal
Order of Eagles. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m.
Saturday at the Vore and Folk Funeral home with the Rev.
Howard H. Poetter officiating. Burial will take place in
Greenlawn cemetery at Wapakoneta. Friends may call at the

Information: Carl G. STROH, 95, of St. Marys died at 6:40
p.m. Monday, May 4, in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima,
following a four-week illness. Born in Washington Township,
Auglaize County, he was the son of Conrad and Anna C. (HAUSS)
STROH. On March 24, 1909, he married Flossie L. MEYER who
died February 20, 1964. Survivors include three children,
Mrs. Wilbur W. (Caravelle) DICKE of New Bremen, Mrs. Harold
(Mary) SICKE and Bernard L. both of St. Marys; 11
grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-
grandchildren. Two children, two sisters and a brother
preceded him in death. Mr. STROH was a retired farmer and
member of the Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St.
Marys. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 7, in the Yoder,
Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, with the Rev. H.
Hoyt Brown officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery,

of 217 W. Spring St., New Knoxville, died Thursday, Sept. 20,
1984 at 6:15 p.m. at his home following a sudden apparent
heart attack. He was born May 21, 1904 in St. Marys Township,
Auglaize County, the son of Ernst W. and Sarah
(HOLTKAMP)ELSHOFF. He was first married June 18, 1927 to
Esther HUCKRIEDE, she died Oct. 1, 1937. He was then married
on April 19, 1942 to Velma L. HENSCHEN. She survives with
three sons; Eldred ELSHOFF of LaCanada, Ca; Kenneth ELSHOFF
of Columbus and Mack ELSHOFF of New Knoxville; ten
grandchildren; one brother, Harvey ELSHOFF of St. Marys; and
two sisters, Lydia NIEMEYER and Alvina NIEMEYER, both of New
Knoxville. Preceding him in death was a brother, Walter, and
a sister, Selma HABERKAMP. A retired carpenter, Mr. ELSHOFF
was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New
Knoxville, where he had served as elder and deacon, and where
he was a member of the church choir for 50 years. He also
served as a member of the New Knoxville School Board. His
funeral services will be at the church at 11 a.m. Monday with
the Rev. John R. Coddington officiating. Burial will follow
in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville. Friends may call at
the Vornholt Funeral Home, New Knoxville, on Sunday from 11
a.m.to 9 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until

Additional Information: Wapakoneta-Walter R. EVERSMAN, 82,
908 Race St., native of New Knoxville, died Tuesday at 10:25
a.m. at the Lima St. Rita's Medical Center. He had been ill
for some time. He was born May 11, 1897, son of Henry and
Anna (SETTLAGE) EVERSMAN. On April 7, 1927, he and the former
Edna BISHOP were married. She died Aug. 25, 1976. Survivors
include five children, Mrs. Robert (Loletta) GARD of Elkhart,
Ind., Mrs. Nelson (Anna) GREVE, R.R.2, Wapakoneta, Walter J.
of Liberty, S.C., Donald J. of Union, Mich., and Arthur L. of
Wapakoneta; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Three grandchildren and three brothers are deceased. Mr.
EVERSMAN retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years
employment. He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of
Christ in Wapakoneta, and the Moulton Gun Club and the
Shawnee Long Rifle Club. Services will be held Friday at
10:30 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Harold Thiedt
officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery,
Wapakoneta. Friends may call at the Charles D. Siferd Funeral
Home, Wapakoneta, this afternoon and evening. The family has
requested memorials be made to the Church or the American
Heaart Association.

Seymore, Ind. of an apparent heart attack. She was visiting
relatives at the time. Born Oct. 14, 1904 in Auglaize county,
she was the daughter of the late William and Ann (MILLER)
BISHOP. On April 7, 1927 she and Walter R. EVERSMAN were
married. Surviving with her are two daughters, Mrs. Robert
(Loletta) GARD, Elkhart, Ind. and Mrs. Nelson (Anna) GREVE,
R.R.2, Wapakoneta; three sons, Walter J., Liberty, S.C.;
Donald J. Union, Mich.; and Arthur L. Wapakoneta; six
grandchildren; a brother William, Wapakoneta; and two
sisters, Mrs. Charles (Lena) PERRY, Ashland; and Mrs.
Florence BISHOP, Dayton. Two great-grandchildren preceded her
in death. Mrs. EVERSMAN was a member of St. Pauls United
Church of Christ and the Women's Guild of the church.

Thursday in an accident at the Hoge Lumber Co, New Knoxville,
Carl G. HOGE of New Knoxville, died at 5:20 a.m. today in
Joint Township Hospital, St. Marys. Lumber stacked on a dry-
kiln car toppled over and struck HOGE as he was seated on a
tractor. The car carrying the lumber was loaded about 10 feet
high. The top 4 or 5 layers of lumber toppled. Four or five
workers were witnesses to the accident. It could not be
learned what caused the lumber to topple. It was believed
that internal injuries caused his death. Born Nov. 20, 1928
in New Knoxville, he was a son of Gustave and Mary STIENECKER
HOGE, who survive. In addition to his parents he is survived
by his wife, the former Loletta EVERSMAN, whom he married
Aug. 26, 1950, two brothers, Ned W. HOGE, New Knoxville;
Robert R, a student in England and two sisters, Ruth HOGE at
home and Mrs. Robert (Mary Ann) HIRSHFELD, St. Marys. Two
children preceded him in death. A veteran of the Korean war
he had worked at the lumber company since his release from
service. He was a member of the American Legion Post No 444,
New Knoxville, and the First Evangelical and Reformed church
of that village. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
Monday at the New Knoxville Evangelical and Reformed church

Duane Anthony GREVE, 21, of 3030 W. Walnut St., Garland,
Tex., died at 6 p.m. Thursday in Dallas, Tex., in a
motorcycle-truck accident. Mr. GREVE had moved from
Wapakoneta to Texas in September, 1977. Born August 10, 1956
in Lima, he was the son of Nelson ("Nellie") GREVE
and Anna (EVERSMAN) GREVE, who survive at Rt. 2, Wapakoneta.
Also surviving are a sister, Beverly J., of Wapakoneta; two
brothers, Douglas J., of Rt. 2, Wapakoneta; and David A., of
Rt. 5, Wapakoneta; the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Edward
(Hulda) GREVE, of Wapakoneta; and the maternal grandfather,
Walter R. EVERSMAN, of Wapakoneta. Mr. GREVE was employed by
Borden Milk Co., Dallas Tex. He was a former employee of
Moulton Gas Service, Moulton. He was a member of St. Joseph
Catholic Church, Wapakoneta; the Holy Name Society of the
church; and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 691,
Wapakoneta. He was a 1974 graduate of St. Joseph High School.
Mass of the Resurrection will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in St.
Joseph Catholic Church, the Rev. Leonard Fullenkamp

Donald J. EVERSMAN, 45 of Union, Mich., was found dead at his
residence Tuesday after an apparent heart attack. He was born
June 6, 1935 in Wapakoneta, the son of Walter and Edna
(BISHOP) EVERSMAN. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Robert
(Loletta) GARD of Elkhart, Ind.; Mrs. Nelson (Anna) GREVE of
R.R.2, Wapakoneta; and one brother, Walter J. EVERSMAN of
Liberty, S.C. A brother, Arthur died Dec. 22 1981. Mr.
EVERSMAN was a member of the St. Peters' Lodge Mo 106, Free
and Accepted Masons; Kingsbury Chapter No. 78, Royal Arch
Masons; National Rifle Association; and the IUOE Local No.
150. He was a crane operater of Erecto Co. of Mishawaka, Ind.
He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in

Additional Information: May 21, 1958-The Rev. F. H. EVERSMAN,
of Cecil, Wis, native of the New Knoxville community, died
suddenly of a heart attack at 10 a.m. today at a hospital
near Cecil. His brother, Wesley, southeast of New Knoxville,
was notified. He was 58 years old. The Rev. Mr. EVERSMAN had
suffered with a heart ailment for some time. He was the son
of the late Henry and Anna SETTLAGE EVERSMAN of near New
Knoxville and and been ordained to the minstry in the New
Knoxville Evangelical and Reformed church following his
graduation from the mMission House College and Seminary.
Surviving him are his wife, Alice, two sons, Charles and Paul
and one daughter, Ruth Ann, three brothers, Walter of
Wapakoneta, Wesley of near New Knoxville and Arnold of
Dayton. Since his ordination he had served three churches of
the Evangelical and Reformed faith, in Mount Vernon,
Crothersville, Ind., and Cecil, Wis. Funeral arrangements are
incomplete.

EVERSMAN of Cecil, Wis., New Knoxville community native, who
died suddenly yesterday of a heart attack, will be held at
10:30 a.m. Friday in Cecil and at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the
Voss Funeral Home, Seymour, Ind. Burial will be made in the
cemetery at Seymour. The Rev. Mr. EVERSMAN was ordained to
the christian ministry in June 1926, at the First
Evangelical and Reformed church in New Knoxville. Surviving
him are his wife, the former Alice FOSTER of Seymour, two
sons, Charles, studying for the ministry at Mission House

535 Defiance Road, St. Marys, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday,
October 5, 2000, at St. Marys Living Center, following an
extended illness. He was born May 18, 1920 in Wood County, to
Joseph and Rosa (WEGSCHEIDER) NEWLOVE. On April 23, 1941, he
married Jeanne BROBST, who survives. Additional survivors
included one son, Dane (Karen) NEWLOVE of St. Marys; three
grandchildren, Lindsey NEWLOVE, Amanda NEWLOVE and Troy
NEWLOVE, all of St. Marys; four brothers, Joseph NEWLOVE,
Albert NEWLOVE, Robert NEWLOVE and John NEWLOVE, all of
Bowling Green; and one sister, Margaret ECKERT of Bowling
Green. He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Claude
NEWLOVE, another brother, Richard NEWLOVE and one sister
Marie NEWLOVE. Mr. NEWLOVE was a farmer for many years in
Wood County. He was employed at the Brush Wellman Company in
Elmore, where he worked on various U.S. Department of Defense
and NASA programs building space capsules used by astronauts,
including John Glenn. He was a veteran of World War II,
having served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army's Third Infantry
Division in the European Theater. He fought in the Battle of
the Bulge as part of General George S. Patton's successful
counterattack against the German Army. He was a member of the
Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys and was a former
member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cygnet. He was
a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1148, and
the American Post 539 in North Baltimore. He enjoyed
woodworking. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m.
Monday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 511 E. SPring St.,
St. Marys, with the Rev. David A. Heinl and Rev. James O.
Byrne officiating. Burial with graveside military rites will
take place at 3 p.m. at the New Maplewood Cemetery, in North

Elizabeth was born in Cochranton, Pa., February 20, 1927. In
1938 she came with her parents from St. Louis to reside in
New Knoxville, where she was a member of First United Church
of Christ. Her father died on April 18, 1941. Surviving her,
besides her mother, are a sister, Miss Phoebe SETTLAGE of
Cleveland, Ohio and a brother, Dr. Arnold SETTLAGE of Los
Angeles, California. Funeral services will be held Tuesday

Additional Information: Thomas L. BIDWELL, 68, 37 Southmore
Shores, St. Marys, died at 10:25 a.m. Friday Dec. 1, 2000, at
Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys
following a sudden illness. He was born on July 27, 1932, in
Greenville, the son of Kenneth R. and Catharine (WILT)
BIDWELL. On April 5, 1979, he married Zita KOBEL, who
survives near St. Marys. Other survivors include a daughter,
Paula (Richard) HUTCHINS of Belen, N.M.; a son, Chris (Lisa)
BIDWELL of Dayton; five stepchildren, Sam and Laura DIXON of
Corona, Calif., Teresa ROBERTS of St. Marys and Randy and
Carolyn DIXON of Cincinnati; a sister, Pat (Robert) DIERINGER
of Versailles; and eight grandchildren. Mr. BIDWELL retired
from Crown Equipment Corp. in New Bremen Dec. 31, 1995, after
more than 40 years of service. During his time with Crown, he
went from the engineering department to sales and product
manager where he developed and marketed the first Crown lift
truck products. Later as general manager, senior vice
president and executive vice president, he led the
development of new products, branches and operations outside
of the U. S. He was awarded with a lifetime award from the
Industrial Designers Society of American for his
contributions and support of design. He also served as the
Industrial Truck Association President and in 1994, he
received the organizations' highest award for his efforts. At
the time of his death, Mr. BIDWELL was on the board of
directors for Crown and was servicing as a special consultant
for the company. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at
10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in New
Bremen, with the Rev. John W. Tostrick officating. Burial
will follow at the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Gilberg Funeral
Home in New Bremen and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of
services Tuesday at the St. Paul United Church of Christ.
Memorials may be directed to the St. Marys Rescue Squad, the
American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes
Association.

Katherine L. KEITH, 32, 1737 Lucille, Drive, Apt. 1D, Lima,
formerly of 714 East Spring St., St. Marys, died at 9:50 a.m
Friday, Dec. 1, 2000 in the emergency department of Joint
Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys after a
brief illness. She was born Feb. 23, 1968, in St. Marys, the
daughter of William and Margaret (LEE) KEITH. Her mother
survives in St. Marys. She is survived by one daughter,
Jasmine KEITH of Lima; four brothers, Doug KEITH of St.
Marys, Allen KEITH of Chicago, Illinois, Mike KEITH of Lima,
and Dave KEITH of St. Marys; one sister, Chris (Diane)
FILLMORE of Dayton; one step-brother, Bill KEITH of Lima; one
step-sister, Marlene KEITH of Lima; and numerous nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by her father William
KEITH. Ms. KEITH was graduate of St. Marys Memorial High
School. She was employed at the Meijer Store in Lima. She was
a member of the Community Baptist Church in Lima. Funeral
services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Miller Funeral Home
in St. Marys, with the Rev. Mel Woodard officiating. Burial
will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, in St. Marys. Friends may

PRESAR, 82, Wagner Street, Wapakoneta, died at 9:10 a.m.
Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born May 22, 1918, in Auglaize County, the son of
George and Augusta (RUCK) PRESAR. On Feb. 3, 1940, he married
Mary Helen HARSHBARGER, who survives. Other survivors include
two sons, Joe (Judie) PRESAR and Randy (Deb) PRESAR, both of
Wapakoneta; three daughters, Linda (Wilbur) DOSECK, Sandra
PHIPPS and Pamela (Joe) WACHAUF, all of Wapakoneta; a
brother, Milton "Bud" (Roseanna) PRESAR of
Wapakoneta; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by five brothers, Edwin, Gilbert,
Victor, Raymond and Nelson; two sisters, Corinne BROWN and
Bernadine RISEDEN; and a granddaughter Jodie PRESAR. A
farmer, Mr. PRESAR retired in 1980 after 34 years of service
as a driver-buyer with the G.A. Wintzer & Son Co. in
Wapakoneta. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church
in Wapakoneta, its Holy Name society and the Knights of
Columbus, Council 1272, He was also a member of the Fraternal
Order of Eagles, Aerie 691, and the Senior Citizens, both of
Wapakoneta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m.
Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta with the
Rev. William Eilerman officiating. Burial will follow in the
St. Joseph Cemetery, in Wapakoneta. Friends may call from 2
to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in

Additional Information: Cletus H. ZUMBROEGEL, 91, formerly of
Cleveland Street, Minster, died at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, Nov.
29, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Minster, where he had
resided for three years. He was born May 9, 1909, in Minster,
the son of Henry and Wilhemena (ZURELENE) ZUMBROEGEL. On Aug.
25, 1928, he married Esther MANNOR, who died Feb. 20, 1980.
Survivors include four daughters, Patricia (Thomas)
DINGELDINE and Barbara (David) LUTZ, both of St. Marys,
Shirley (Anthony) OLDRIGES of Minster and Nancy (Leland)
ROMAINE of Buckhannon, W. Va.; a daughter-in-law, Barbara
ZUMBROEGEL of St. Marys; 24 grandchildren; 34 great
grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by a son, Donald, three brothers, and three
sisters. Mr. ZUMBROEGEL was retired from Ace Wholesale
Distributing in Sidney. He was a member of St. Augustine
Church in Minster, a former long-time member of the St.
Augustine Church Choir and a former member of the Cataract
Fire Company in Minster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church with the
Rev. William Hoyng officiating. Burial will follow in the
Church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and

Mrs. Sophia BUCKLOH, age 86, widow of Henry BUCKLOH, died at
9 a.m. today at the United Church of Christ Home for the Aged
in Upper Sandusky where she had lived since February 1951.
Mrs. BUCKLOH had been seriously ill for the last three weeks
suffering with a heart ailment. She was the daughter of the
late Fred and Mary SETTLAGE, north of New Knoxville, and was
born April 1, 1872. She was married to Henry BUCKLOH who
preceded her in death. Mrs. BUCKLOH had lived near New Bremen
previously to her husband's death, then made her home with
her brothers, the late Theodore and Louis SETTLAGE and their
families north of New Knoxville for some years before going
to the Home for the Aged. She is survived by three sisters-
in-law, Mrs. Rose SETTLAGE, R.R.1, New Knoxville, Mrs. Alice
SETTLAGE, New Knoxville, and Mrs. Cindy BUCKLOH, St. Marys,
and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. BUCKLOH was a member
of the First United Church of Christ (E&R), New
Knoxville, the German Bible Class and the Ladies Aid. Her
body will be brought Saturday to the Vornholt Funeral Home at
New Bremen where funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m.
Sunday with Dr. Ernst Fledderjohann officiating. Burial will
take place in German Protestant cemetery. Friends may call at
the home beginning after 7 p.m. until the hour of the
services.

Additional Information: Mrs. Rose SETTLAGE, age 84, widow of
Lewis SETTLAGE, R.R.1, New Knoxville, died at 10:30 a.m.
today at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence SCHROEDER, her
son-in-law and daughter, with whom she had been living. She
had been ill with complications for some time but her death
came suddenly. She was born April 10, 1876 at New Bremen, the
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August HEIL. She was
married June 6, 1899 to Lewis SETTLAGE, who preceded her in
death. Surviving her are three children, Rev. H.E. SETTLAGE,
Magley, Ind., Mrs. Lawrence (Lydia) SCHROEDER, R.R.1, New
Knoxville and Noah SETTLAGE, R.R.1, New Knoxville. A son,
Reinhardt died in 1918. There are 13 grandchildren and 20
great-grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Amelia Roberts, lives
in Milton, W.Va., and there are two brothers, Ferdinand and
Herbert HEIL, both of St. Marys. Mrs. SETTLAGE was a member
of the First United Church of Christ at New Knoxville and was
a member of the German Bible Class and the Ladies Aid
Society. Funeral services are arranged for Tuesday at 1:30
p.m. at the Vornholt Funeral Home, New Bremen, and at 2 p.m.
at the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville. The Rev.
F.J. Lowenbergh will officiate. Burial will take place in

Obituary / Additional Information: Lewis Herman SETTLAGE, age
74 years and 39 days, residing northeast of New Knoxville on
St. Marys, R.R.1 died at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at
Lima Memorial Hospital. He had been ill two wweeks with a
heart ailment and complications. Mr. SETTLAGE had lived all
of his life of the same farm having been born there on
October 19, 1876, a son of the late Fred and Mary SETTLAGE.
On June 6, 1899 he married Rosa HEIL who is left to mourn his
death together with their three children. Rev. Herman E.
SETTLAGE, Belvidere, Tenn., Mrs. Lawrence SCHROEDER, R.R. 3,
St. Marys and Noah F. SETTLAGE, R.R.1, St. Marys. One son,
Rinehart is deceased. A sister, Mrs. Sophia BUCKLOH resides
at the Settlage residence. Ther are 13 grandchildren. There
are a number of nieces and nephews, five of whom, Emil,
Richard, Frederick, Andrew and Ben SETTLAGE, made their home
for some time with Mr. and Mrs. SETTLAGE after the death of
their father, Theodore SETTLAGE. The deceased had been
engaged in farming all of his life. Mr. SETTLAGE was a member
of the Evangelical and Reformed church at New Knoxville and
had been a teacher in the Sunday School for many years. He
frequently voiced his personal conviction "I know whom I
have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that
which I have commmitted unto Him against that day." He
was a member of the Pilger Ruhe cemetery association and
served as its president. Funeral services are arranged for
Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the residence and 2
o'clock at the New Knoxville Evangelical and Reformed church,
Dr. D.A. Bode will officiate. Burial will take place in
Pilger Ruhe cemetery. Friends may call at the residence
Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday until the hour of the
services.

Coddington officiating. Burial will be at the Pilger Ruhe

SETTLAGE, 49, Route 1, New Knoxville, died at her residence
at 8:40 a.m. Sunday of a heart atack. She had been ill for
three months. A daughter of Louis and Sarah BUDDEMEYER
WIBBELER, she was born August 9, 1907, in Moulton. On May 16,
1931 she was married to Noah SETTLAGE who survives. Her
mother and six children also survive. The children are
Lester, Route 2, St. Marys, Robert, Sheboygan Falls,
Wisconsin, Mrs. Lester (Leah) KRUSE, Route 1, New Knoxville,
Mrs. Roger (Marilee) EVERSMAN, New Knoxville, and Joyce and
Grace at home. Three grandchildren and five brothers and
sisters also survive. The brothers and sisters, are Mrs.

April 24, 1907, in New Bremen, the daughter of William and
Sophie (LUEDEKE) TOPP. She first married Wilbur BURD, who
preceded her in death, and then married William MCNAMEE, who
also died. Survivors include a daughter, Anna (Kenneth) MOSER
of Lima with whom she has resided for the past year; a
daughter-in-law, Katherine BURD of St. Marys; 14
grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth
HOSELTON and a son, Paul BURD. Mrs. MCNAMEE was previously
employed at the DWG Cigar Factory and the Goodyear Tire and
Rubber Company, both in St. Marys. She was a member of the
St. Paul's United Church of Christ in St. Marys. Funeral
services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Miller Funeral
Home in St. Marys with the Rev. Patricia Minnick officiating.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
