OHGenWebWelcome to Auglaize Co. GenealogyUSGenWeb

Hi, my name is Tina Hursh and I've just adopted this county. I'm currently in the process of re-doing the website so please bear with me.
If you find any broken links, please let me know so that I can get them fixed asap.

Auglaize County was created in 1848 from portions of Allen, and Mercer Counties.
Other neighboring counties are DarkeHardinLoganShelby,  and Van Wert Counties.

Wapakoneta is the county seat.
Auglaize is a Native American word meaning "fallen timbers."

PIONEER LIFE IN OHIO

Stagecoach Lines in Southwestern Ohio

What was daily pioneer life really like for our ancestors? Please contribute your family folklore!

If you visit our site often, you will want to "refresh" or "reload" your browser to see the latest updates.

The most important goal of The USGenWeb Project is to share information. In our pages you will find opportunities to learn from information other people are sharing, and opportunities to make your information available to other researchers.

In order for us to best serve you, please be certain that your e-mail address is correct on your correspondence. I've recently had to delete several requests for information because the reply address was wrong on the submitter's request. Also IT IS VERY IMPORTANT to keep your requests within the certain guidelines outlined for look-ups and queries. As much as I'd love to be able to run to the court house or library to do research for everyone, I don't have the time to do that.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed surnames, queries, biographies and some of their research results for this page. We're compiling a fantastic research tool! And, of course, we can always use more volunteers to contribute resources. Any suggestions, corrections or comments about this page will be greatly appreciated.
